На заключительном этапе IRL, Panther Racing выстовят на старт третий болид, за рулём которого будет 24 летний японец Хидеки Муто
Hideki Mutoh will make his IndyCar Series debut in a third Panther Racing car at the Chicagoland Speedway. The 24 year old from Toyko, Japan will join countryman Kosuke Matsuura and Brazilian Vitor Meira for the final race of the 2007 IndyCar Series season.
“The entire Panther team is extremely excited to help Hideki Mutoh make his debut in the IndyCar Series at Chicago,” said John Barnes, owner of Panther Racing. “He's proved to all of us that he deserves this opportunity by the way he's performed in the Indy Pro Series and the way he's driven the IndyCar Series car during testing.”
Presently second in Indy Pro Series points, Mutoh will test a Super Aguri Panther Racing IndyCar Series Dallara at Kentucky Speedway, Chicagoland Speedway and Infineon Raceway before his first race weekend. He has already tested the “big car” here at Mid-Ohio.
As an IndyCar Series rookie, Mutoh is allowed extra testing at the discretion of the Indy Racing League stewards, and he also has earned the team “bonus” test days as part of the IndyPro Series incentive program. Each IndyCar Series team that runs an IndyPro Series car can get up to four days of test time under the rules. They must run the IPS driver for at least half of the test day.
