The NASCAR Manufacturers' Championship is awarded to the most successful automobile manufacturer in NASCAR's highest division, the *** Cup series.
The title has been awarded every season since 1952, with the modern era beginning in 1972.
Points are awarded after each race to the different manufacturers who took part in it.
The winner's manufacturer gets 9 points, 6 for the next manufacturer, 4 for the 3rd-placed manufacturer, 3 points for the 4th, 2 points for the 5th, and 1 point for the 6th.
Whichever manufacturer has the most points by the end of the season wins the championship.
