round out the top 6 at the restart.
Lap 5:
#5 Mark Martin got really loose going into Turn 1 at the restart,
#42 Juan Pablo Montoya passes him for the lead.
#88 Dale Earnhardt Jr. moves to 2nd.
Lap 6:
Defending race winner #48 Jimmie Johnson has moved into the top 10.
Lap 8:
2000 Indianapolis 500 winner Juan Pablo Montoya has a 1.689 second lead on Dale Earnhardt Jr. early at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Lap 10:
#5 Mark Martin has gotten past #88 Dale Earnhardt Jr. and climbed back into 2nd place.
#88 Junior actually drops to 5th as #14 Tony Stewart and #83 Brian Vickers also get ahead.
Lap 11:
#82 Scott Speed made an unscheduled pit stop, appears to have damage on his machine.
Lap 14:
#5 Mark Martin tells his team "no adjustments" needed.
Lee Spencer says:
Curious situation for #19 Elliott Sadler, who had trouble with the car starting before the race started and remains in the garage.
This was his debut with the new Dodge engine.
